Amalfiiiii

This weekend, Laura and I decided to hit the Amalfi Coast. It was the last weekend the trip was available and we thought it was for sure a must-see in Italy so we went for it. Unfortunately, being so late in the season we had a rainy day in Capri. This means we did NOT get to see the famous blue Grotto. Anyhow, we ended up doing a lot more walking around in Capri and found some views I am certain most people miss because they are so busy paying over-priced boat rides. That night we had a lovely meal with the Euroadventures crew and a really fun night out in Sorrento. The next day we went to Positano and enjoyed a full day of fun and sunshine on the beaches.
The last day was Mt.Vesuvius and Pompeii. This was definitely my favorite! Mt. Vesuvius was REALLY cool and coming from the Guat, I have seen volcanoes and craters before, but it was cool to see such a big one and a volcano that is surrounded by amazing greenery and a beach. The views are un-real. Pompeii was simply breathtaking. That ancient city is beyond amazing. I was impressed how, despite the explosion of the volcano the city is still standing, and even some Frescos were still visible (learning the Art History!). The only bad thing was Laura and I did not have a map of Pompeii so we did a lot of walking BUT at the end we really were not sure where we were and I got a little antsy, not wanting to be late and left behind. So we walked about about 20 minutes earlier than we could have.

All in all, it was an amazing weekend. Exhausting but fun! We also made some great friends that are studying abroad in Rome and hopefully we get to see them again when we go in December. I also got the amazing news that ASPEN is coming to visit me! I could not be happier.
