Our first day in Ireland, we got up REAL early and headed out on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. Our tour guide was pretty fecking crack! (Apparently, this is a traditional Irish way of saying something is really cool). He told us a lot about the history of Ireland, fun Irish fact and even sang us a couple of songs. On our day trip we first stopped at the cute town of Limerick, then continued to the Cliffs of Moher were we spent about an hour and a half exploring, then we had lunch in the village of Doolin. We headed to Burren & saw the 12th century Corcomroe Abbey and then made it back to Dublin. On the way there it looked foggy and I was freaking out that we would not get to see the cliffs. Luckily though, we were about 30 minutes ahead of the rain and got to avoid it the whole time we were at the cliffs. It caught up to us when we were at the Corcomroe Abbey, but we still got to see it! You know how they say the grass is greener on the other side? Well if by "the other side" they mean Ireland, its true. I have LITERALLY never seen grass SO GREEN or even that many different shades of green in my life. So cool and pretty. That night we hit up the temple bar scene and had a great time. We meet some Italian people (again) at a really cool bar that had traditional Irish singing, went to a couple other places and had an amazing night!
Day #2 in Dublin we headed out to the Guinness Factory. It was so cool. The way the tour is set up as awesome. Lizz and I LITERALLY read every single sign and keep going over the process of how to make the beer. We ended the tour with a beer at the Sky Lounge that has an amazing view of all of Dublin. It was really cool. We then walked around Dublin, saw a lot of the city and then headed back to the hostel so say BYE to Edie and Courtney. So sad. That night we went out to a delicious dinner, had WAY too much food and headed out for the bars again. We went inside a really famous pub where there is live music but the crowd was a little much for Laura and I. So we found a more relaxing pub and had some cider.
Day # 3, Lizz and Isabelle left in a (very) early morning flight into Brussels. Laura, Karina and I had another day in Ireland where we explored the Trinity College area, had some Starbucks (I was having frapuccino withdrawals…) and saw the Dublin Marathon! It was really cool and we got some free stuff too, always great. We did a lot of souvenir shopping, had some amazing hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookie and truffles, and THEN we found a place that had the Fishie Pedicure. Quick explanation: You put your feet into fish tanks and these fishies nibble on your dead skin (that apparently is very similar to the algae they eat). We HAD to do it. It was sooooo ticklish and fun. Our feet felt great after that. The only downside to this awesome day was that it was raining. After one last round of Generator Hostel curly fries, we headed over to the airport.
