Overpacking and Layering

Trying to close Lizz's bag....
So our fall break started out…. Stressful. The traveling buddies for the Pisa-Edinburgh transfer were Laura, Karina, Isabelle and Lizz. We meet at the golden arches (McDonalds... BTW) and were right on time to catch our bus. Only problem? Some info was lost in translation and Lizz, by mistake, booked a bus from Pisa to Florence, not Florence-Pisa, which is what we needed. We scrambled but made it on to the train. The train ride itself was a hoot and a half because Lizz had misunderstood Ryan Air’s one item policy, and had her carry-on and a purse. So we proceeded to unpack and repack he bag. It did not all fit, so this re-packing adventured ended up in Lizz and I layering up. Final tally: Lizz 7 layers, Cami 5. After scrambling through security, waiting in line to get our visas checked (since we were leaving the EU… Edinburgh is in Scotland…duh) we finally made it on to the plane.

Castle
We successfully (and without any additional fees!) made it to Edinburgh. Our reunion with Edie was beautiful. I missed my granny pants, and had forgotten our co-dependence issues. Good thing all three of us are roomies next year. Our hostel (LINK) was awesome. The people were super nice and it was really quite and quaint. We tried going out but by the time we finally made it out it was 1.00 am, and everything closes at 1.00 am. We did meet some people that asked us to sing Wagon Wheel, which was fun.
The Crew whiskey tasting!
Fun Fact: The first people we meet in Edinburgh AND our first meal were…. Surprise, surprise, ITALIAN. This would be the beginning of Italy following us around our Fall Break.

The next morning we got up kind of early, had breakfast and headed out to explore. We walked around Edinburgh, went to the Coffee Shop that inspired J.K Rowling to write Harry Potter (LINK), went whiskey tasting (and realized we don’t really like whiskey… hahahaha), checked out the Edinburgh Castel and did some wool and souvenir shopping. We had an amazing day in Edinburgh, but he had to head out to the airport again. We meet up with Edie’s friend Courtney, who was joining us for the Ireland part of the trip.

Layers...
Since our first flight was so stressful, we got there with more time, layered up once again and were ready to beat Ryan Air one more time. Our flight got delayed so we had a long wait/hangout time at the airport, but we eventually made it to DUBLIN. It was so late by the time we finally made it to the hostel that we went straight to bed. We also had quite the early morning on Saturday so we needed to be well rested.
