Food Coma... to the max.

So I am not sure how I made it this far with out going into a food coma but today, full on food coma, to the max. (Disclaimer: One day it almost happened with cheap, but good chinese food but I realized it was because of the Soda I had with lunch, bad choices).
I had a cooking class with my Mediterranean Diet class today where we were cooking dinner and eating it. Since I had been gone all weekend I had not chance of telling my host mom that I would not be eating dinner at home today. I luckily saw her in the morning and right as I was about to say something she said "Claudio and Francesca are coming for dinner tonight!" (her son and his girlfriend) Ooops. So I guess two dinners for me tonight?

The cooking class was awesome and we made:
Humus
Babaganush
Zaziki Sauce
Tabuleh
Regular Cous-Cous
Roasted Chicken Stew and Vegetables
Creme Brule

Weird combo, I know. So when it came time to eat I just had some Tabuleh (my favorite), humus and veggies, Babaganush and some Zaziki sauce. I skipped the main dish and BUT I had to have my lovely Creme Brule. 15 minutes after being home, round #2.

We had:
Some sort of vegetable soup-thingy (that I only had a rather small bite of, not a full serving, thank god)
Salad
Meat
Potatoes

Luckily since there were so many more people eating dinner, my host mom did not notice that I took rather small bites of it all. After a little bit of everything, I was quite full and then DESSERT.
Francesca made a French version of an apple pie that is sort of an upside-down apple pie where you flip it out on the pan and on top are the apples with caramelized sugar on top. A-MA-ZING. I actually made this in my cooking lab back in Denver so I knew how oh-so-good-but-very-bad-for-you it was, but I could not resist. I had a small piece and then another small bite. After we had all eaten, the entire thing was gone. I do have to mention, everyone had one piece + a little more and because there was only one slice left, my host mom finished it off. NOT ME.

After this though, I was (am still) extremely full. FOOD COMA. For sure. But it was all amazing.
Never again though, never again.
